Sometimes you just gotta try something completely different, ya know?
In-home sessions are not a new thing, but as someone who's most comfortable shooting outdoors in the wind and the sun and the mountains, they're certainly new to me. But so far in life, I have never regretted getting out of my comfort zone, and this in-home session with Kevin + Taylor was no exception.
These two old souls have been married less than a year, but their effortless love would make you think they have been together for a lifetime. After eloping on the Oregon coast and honeymooning in Canada (I know, right), they've now settled down in the heart of Oklahoma City in the cutest little apartment. (I'm sure you'll have just as much apartment-envy as I did.) As much as I loved taking these photos of Kevin + Taylor, I loved getting to know them and hearing them tell stories even more. They're living life together with intention, fun, and a whole lot of adventure and coffee. Their favorite books decorate their apartment, their favorite music was streaming from the record player in the corner, and their walls are graced with their wedding photos and quotes and all manner of things that mean something special to them.
And another cool thing about this session? It was the first time my boyfriend/second-shooter-in-training Michael got to shoot with me. He absolutely rocked it, and you'll see some of his images sprinkled throughout this post... And did I mention the four of us spontaneously went out for brunch afterwards? Yeah so, an amazing session + new friends = quite literally the best day.
P.S. I really love in-home sessions now so if you're thinking about booking one, let's doooo itttt.
