Brittney + Michael dreamed up the perfect session in the mountains, but during a mild week in February, they definitely weren’t planning for the temperature to suddenly drop to 45 degrees and the rain to roll in! Instead of being scared off, they totally embraced it and we went ahead and shot in the mist and cold and fog.
When Mariah + Dakota first reached out to me about photographing their wedding, Mariah explained that even though they were having a more traditional wedding at their home church in Edmond, Oklahoma, she also really really wanted a wedding photo session in the mountains afterward. Hi yes hello let’s do this.
Over the past year, I've had the privilege of watching my best friend fall in love with someone who is so incredibly perfect for her. To see how Blake loves Emily so sweetly and openly is an overwhelming joy. And in a mere sixteen days, I get to stand by her side and cry and celebrate as they say "I do" for life and begin their adventure together.
Ericka + Stephen are two of those people I knew I wanted to work with even before I met them. From the first few emails with Ericka, I was totally on board with their vision for their wedding and engagement photos. When we met up at a local coffee shop, my suspicions were confirmed: they are, in fact, two delightful people.
I don't even have to tell you how much fun these two have together because I think it's pretty obvious. They kept each other (and me) laughing the whole time, and I barely had to direct them at all. Pair their cuteness against that stunning Colorado backdrop, and it was a perfect session. And then as we were finishing up, Rachel said, "Hey, would it be cool if we went and actually stood in the lake?" UM YES HELLO BLESS YOU.
But the best part of this shoot? When we drove to the top of Loveland Pass and the clouds just stopped us dead in our tracks. I've never seen a more stunning sight in my life. We literally had to just sit and take it in for a few moments. Just keep scrolling. You'll see what I mean. Oh, and then the clouds rolled right over us and we got to shoot our last few photos actually INSIDE A CLOUD. No big deal.
