Well. I’ve been planning this blog post for weeks and I find myself not even knowing how to begin. Because WOW I still haven’t recovered from the magnificence that was Amelia + Luke’s wedding day.

Sometimes in the middle of a wedding day, I stop and wonder how this is my job. How did I get to be so lucky to get a front-row seat to some of the most breathtaking, beautiful moments in people’s lives? Wes + Elyse’s wedding was one of those times.
You might remember seeing my last post featuring The Best Wedding Venues in Oklahoma (aka, my favorite wedding venues in Oklahoma). Since that post, I have had the opportunity to experience even more gorgeous venues this wonderful state has to offer, so I figured it was high time to add a few more favorites to the list.
I think everyone involved was overwhelmed with happiness to see this day finally come together. Hosted at the stunning Holloway House in the heart of Oklahoma City, I don't know if I've ever seen a wedding day that was so intentional, so focused on the marriage, so defiant of tradition and instead so beautifully reflective of the couple's unique personalities. Rachael + Preston decided against having a bridal party, got ready together the morning of, and had a private foot-washing ceremony an hour before their guests arrived. The emotion of this day was breathtakingly tangible. You felt it in the air, you heard it in their voices, you saw it on their faces.
Your wedding venue is one of the biggest decisions in planning your day, and deciding on the right place can be overwhelming. It's not just about what's popular or cheap; it's about finding that one location that perfectly defines who you are as a couple and sets the mood for your wedding day.
If you're venue-shopping and need some ideas or recommendations, I've compiled this list of my favorite wedding venues in Oklahoma, at least of the ones I've discovered so far...
Rather than a traditional wedding, Taylor + Preston wanted to say I do in an intimate ceremony in the mountains at sunset. So off we headed to the gorgeous Wichita Mountains in southwestern Oklahoma. To our dismay, it rained the whole time we were driving. But as soon as we pulled in, the rain disappeared and all was well! Their two beloved dogs stood in as their wedding party, and Taylor wore her grandmother's treasured necklace.
