Anna + Ben chose to have their destination engagement session at White Sands National Monument in New Mexico because it was one of the first places they visited together after they started dating. I absolutely love it when couples pick locations for their session that mean something special to them! These two have been together for four years and are getting ready to say "I do" for life. It was such an honor getting to document their passionate, adventurous love in such a beautiful place.
This is some of the magic we created during the workshop. Gina + Michael were our models, and can we just talk about how stunning they are?! Marriage and love sure look good on them. I will never get over this place, those desert colors, and its sunsets, man. They took my breath away every single time.
I use the word unconventional a lot around here. But what exactly does that mean when it comes to weddings? Well, simply put, it just means you throw tradition to the wind and do whatever the heck you want!! Getting outside the norm isn't really a new idea, but lately it's gone above and beyond just first looks and handwritten vows. A lot of couples are now opting for unique locations, eccentric clothes, offbeat timelines, and much more. I often get asked for suggestions for non-traditional weddings, so here are some ideas and tips for planning your own!
These two totally rolled with the flow, let their day unfold without any stress or rush, and were an absolute joy. At their first look, they both kept saying, "You look so amazing! Wow! Oh my gosh, I'm SO excited to marry you! Babe, we're getting married today!" As soon as they came down the aisle as husband and wife, they stopped for a spontaneous celebratory dance right there. Their wedding was full of happiness and wild dance moves and just simple elegance.
Ericka + Stephen are two of those people I knew I wanted to work with even before I met them. From the first few emails with Ericka, I was totally on board with their vision for their wedding and engagement photos. When we met up at a local coffee shop, my suspicions were confirmed: they are, in fact, two delightful people.
In-home sessions are not a new thing, but as someone who's most comfortable shooting outdoors in the wind and the sun and the mountains, they're certainly new to me. But so far in life, I have never regretted getting out of my comfort zone, and this in-home session with Kevin + Taylor was no exception.
