TO SEE THE WORLD, THINGS DANGEROUS TO COME TO, TO SEE BEHIND WALLS, TO DRAW CLOSER, TO FIND EACH OTHER AND TO FEEL, THAT IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE.
HI, FRIEND. I'M THRILLED YOU'RE HERE.
I'm Payton, a life enthusiast with a love for the wild and celebratory. Most days you can find me eating pizza, hunting down the best iced lattes, watching Friends while I edit wedding photos, and looking at Airbnb’s just for fun.
Oh, and this dreamboat pictured with me? That’s my amazing husband and second shooter, Michael. Unless his other job as a youth pastor calls him away, he shoots every wedding with me and it’s the best thing ever. Without this guy, yo girl would be lost. We just got married in April 2019 (woot woot!), and it has been so fun to be able to share the exciting season of engagement and now marriage with my clients as we celebrate their wedding days.
First and foremost, we worship Jesus. He is the joy and strength fueling every part of who we are. I'm a photographer because while I love creating beautiful images and art, I love people more. Photography is my dream way of spending my life loving on people, telling their stories, spreading joy, and speaking kindness. Bringing Michael on board, serving my clients together, and having him as such a huge part of what I love most has been the greatest adventure.
However you found yourself here, I already think you're the coolest person ever. Let's be friends and go get pizza and let me tell your story. (I hope you're cool with hugs because handshakes are the worst.)

<———————— THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
I’m an Oklahoma-based wedding and elopement photographer, and I’m here for the people who love out loud. Nothing sends chills up my spine like seeing two people who are crazy in love and not afraid to show it. The people who don’t care about what’s traditional or acceptable or normal. The lovers who just can’t freaking wait to get married to each other and make their wedding day exactly what they want it to be. I’m here for the dreamers, the adventurers, the passionate. The people who fall in love everyday with the thrill of being alive and living life together. The people who stay up all night to stargaze or who get a little teary-eyed looking at mountains, but their other half will always be the one thing they can’t take their eyes off of. The couples who feel like they can take on this crazy, wild world as long as they're holding hands.
I grew up with a vibrant love for stories, hiding away in my room and reading for hours on end. But when I finally picked up a camera for the first time, I realized stories weren't just found in books. They are told through moments, through a tender gaze, through the way two people in love hold each other. I want you to look back at your pictures and remember every moment and emotion. Whether you’re inviting 200 people or saying your vows alone in a national park, I am there to capture the unique vision you have for your day and document your celebration from beginning to end; from the anticipation on your faces right before your first look, to the moment you look into each other's eyes and say "I do" for life, to all the people you wanted there to celebrate with you.
I'm not the type to just show up, take pictures, and leave. I want to sit down with you over coffee and get to know you and your love story, your favorite things to do together, the people who are important to you. I want to know what makes your heart sing and what makes you laugh the hardest and if you totally think Rose could have shared that stupid door with Jack. I'm with you every step of the way to make your wedding day as incredible as you envision. My posing is natural and candid and far from everything cringy and awkward (I can hear your sigh of relief from here!), my colors are true to life, and my experience is hella fun. And yeah, there's an 80% chance I will cry during your ceremony, and a 1000% chance I will dance with you at your reception.
If you’ve made it this far into my ramblings and you’re thinking this sounds perfect, then YAAASSSS. Let’s get this party started!
In March 2019, my family lost my seven-year-old niece Avery to brain cancer. She was the light of my life, my little mini-me, and the strongest, most amazing person I’ve ever known. I watched her go through terrible things, yet she always had a smile and a hug for everyone. Avery and her life have inspired me to value every moment, to never overlook the little things, and to bring joy to everyone I meet. She has impacted every part of my life, and by extension every part of my business.
Avery passed away one month before my wedding. She had been so excited about it, couldn’t wait to dress up and dance with me on my wedding day. Every time I look through my wedding photos, I mourn that she is not in them. So ever since her death, I have been more determined than ever to capture unforgettable memories and irreplaceable moments for my clients. I treasure every single blurry iPhone selfie with my Avery, and I know one day my clients might need to cling to candid wedding photos of their loved ones just as I cling to every photo I have of Avery. Poses can be recreated; memories can’t. More than anything, I want to capture incredible memories for my clients.
And if you ever see the Harry Potter tattoo on my arm, just know that’s for Avery, the biggest Harry Potter fan of all. I’ll always miss my little Gryffindor.
I want my everyday to make god glad that he gave life to someone who loves the gift.
